How do I back up my entire disk with Synk?

Under OS 9 and earlier operating systems, backing up an entire disk was a relatively straightforward matter, as there were no restrictions on what any user could do. Mac OS X, however, has a much stronger security framework, which means that an ordinary user does not have access to all areas of the system disk. Therefore, when an ordinary user is running Synk, Synk cannot access all of the drive either.

To bypass these restrictions, you need to run Synk as the superuser, called "root." Learn how to run Synk as root.
